Juniors
The Ginetta Junior Championship is where the journey from karting to professional motorsport truly begins. Racing on the UK’s and Europe's biggest circuits in front of thousands of spectators, young drivers aged 14–17 create a base as young professional's that simply can’t be developed in karting alone. From mastering a purpose built race car, crafting car control and and a deep understanding of vehicle dynamics, to racecraft, media responsibilities and working within a professional team environment. With fiercely competitive grids and a proven history of producing drivers who have progressed into professional GT racing, Hypercars and achieving F1 world championship titles, the Ginetta Junior provides an unrivalled platform for young talent to develop, compete and make their name. At MDD Motorsport, we turn that opportunity into a structured development programme designed to build not just fast drivers, but complete racing drivers ready for the next step in their careers.
A Development-Focused Entry Point
At MDD Motorsport, we approach this first step with a long-term development mindset. Placing equal importance on all aspects of what is required to achieve the dreams of our Junior driver's. Every driver follows a structured programme tailored to their experience and individual needs, with driver specific support helping them understand not only how to drive faster, but why. The objective is simple: give each driver the knowledge, confidence and experience they need to maximise their potential in the Ginetta Junior Championship and to prepare them for every step that follows.
What Drivers Build In Junior
The Ginetta Junior introduces young drivers to every aspect of a professional race weekend, providing an invaluable education both on and off the circuit. At MDD Motorsport, we use that environment to develop the complete racing driver. Building confidence in their ability, refining racecraft and consistency, learning how to communicate effectively with engineers and understanding how to use data and feedback to improve performance. From adapting to changing conditions and managing the pressure of qualifying to making intelligent decisions in close, competitive racing, every weekend becomes an opportunity to learn, develop and build the skills required for the next level of motorsport.
A Serious Start To Long-Term Progression
Our focus extends far beyond results in a driver’s first season. The Ginetta Junior is the foundation on which a long-term motorsport career can be built, and every stage of our programme is designed with that future progression in mind. We work to develop the technical understanding, professionalism, adaptability and performance habits that drivers will carry with them as they progress into faster, more demanding machinery. Whether the ambition is GT racing, touring cars or the single-seater ladder, our goal is to ensure every MDD driver leaves Junior equipped with the skills, experience and mindset to succeed at the next level and beyond.
